EV PAC

EV PAC is a bi-partisan political action committee that helps elect fair-minded individuals to the Virginia legislature and out GLBT candidates to local office. EV PAC's direct involvement in the electoral process is an essential element in the foundation for advocacy that supports the advancement of EV's strategic and legislative goals.

EV has been involved in the political process, public relations, direct and grassroots lobbying, and other forms of issue advocacy for years; however, EV PAC completes the circle by allowing the organization to directly advocate for and against the election of candidates.
The activities of EV PAC are guided by a PAC Advisory Committee, appointed by the board of directors of EV, who represent diverse and politically informed viewpoints. Members include board members and staff from EV, representatives of the Virginia Partisans Gay & Lesbian Democratic Club and the Virginia Log Cabin Republicans, and other politically engaged members of the GLBT community and allies.
EV PAC accomplishes its goals through direct financial contributions to General Assembly and by supporting openly gay local candidates in Virginia as well as by increasing the visibility of our community as a political force at key political events around the state, including the annual receptions of the Democratic and Republican legislative caucuses and the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus.
EV PAC contributions to candidates and independent expenditures in campaigns complement and enhance EV’s grassroots and direct lobbying initiatives.
In its first two election cycles (2005 and 2007) and with limited resources, EV PAC supported Republicans, Independents and Democrats. Some were in contested races, and some were not; all were critical to EV’s growing strength in working across party lines in the General Assembly session.
