Meg Christian

Christian, Meg (b. 1946)- Born and raised in Lynchburg, folk singer Meg Christian was a founder of women's music generally and Olivia Records specifically. She recorded Olivia's first album, "I Know You Know" in 1975 as well as three subsequent albums. She was among the first singers to include lesbian and feminist themes in her music. Meg recorded with both Cris Williamson and Holly Near and performed with Williamson at Carnegie Hall to celebrate Olivia's 10th anniversary. She took a break from music in 1984 to focus on her spiritual life but has returned to performing in recent years including on Olivia cruises.
