Commonwealth Dinner 2021
It’s time to celebrate all of the truly historic successes you helped us achieve this year.
The Commonwealth Dinner, Equality Virginia’s signature fundraiser, will be going 100% virtual. This evening of celebration will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 5:30-7:30 PM and will be completely free for everyone.
For 16 years, LGBTQ Virginians from across the state have joined together with local political, business, and non-profit leaders and influencers to celebrate the strides made over the year towards full lived equality. After a year unlike any other, we cannot wait to show you a new Dinner unlike any other.
Equality Virginia’s Commitment to Anti-racism
If 2020 has shown us anything, it is that inequity persists in the everyday experiences of Black, Latinx, Indigenous people, and other people of color in our country. The pandemic and the uprisings for Black Lives have done even more to highlight these disparities.
We commit to become the anti-racist and equity-focused organization that the LGBTQ community in Virginia needs and deserves. To reflect that commitment, and to ensure anyone who wants to join in this celebration is able to, we will offer digital tickets at no cost to all guests. The increased accessibility of this year’s Dinner opens the door for even more people across the state to enjoy this wonderful night of celebration.
OUTstanding Virginians
Every year Equality Virginia shines a spotlight on those who have dedicated their lives to fighting for equality. The 2021 honorees have been on the front-lines for fairness, improving their communities and striving for a more inclusive Virginia. These individuals and organizations have educated, advocated, and demonstrated what it means to truly be an OUTstanding Virginian.
