Pride Intern (Equality Virginia; Part-Time, Temporary)
- Location: Virginia (4 positions: Southwest, Central, Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia)
- Organization: Equality Virginia
- Duration: May – June 2026 (with potential for re-hire August-October)
- Compensation: $1000
- Time Commitment: primarily weekends for events + weekday data entry support
- Applications must be submitted by 6pm on Sunday April 25th. We are looking to fill this position for a May 11th start date.
Position Overview
Equality Virginia is seeking four dynamic, community-driven Pride & Community Event Organizers to support our visibility and outreach efforts during Pride season. These temporary, part-time roles will focus on organizing and managing Equality Virginia’s presence at Pride festivals, community events, and other public gatherings across the Commonwealth.
Each organizer will be based in and responsible for one region (Southwest Virginia, Central Virginia, Hampton Roads, or Northern Virginia), helping us engage thousands of Virginians through direct outreach, storytelling, and community connection.
This is a highly public-facing, high-energy role ideal for individuals passionate about LGBTQ+ advocacy, community organizing, and building relationships.
Pride Volunteer (Equality Virginia; Weekends, Temporary)
- Location: Virginia (preferred Southwest or Valley, Central, Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia)
- Organization: Equality Virginia
- Duration: June, September, October 2026
- Compensation: t-shirt, lunch and two free tickets to our signature fall fundraising event
- Hours: 8 hours per event (Saturday or Sunday)

Organizers will play a critical role in building visibility for the ballot measure campaign, engaging community members in conversations about marriage equality, and helping grow our base of supporters.
This is a highly public-facing, high-energy organizing role ideal for individuals passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, campaigns, and community organizing.

Position Overview
Equality Virginia is seeking a creative, highly engaged Digital Intern to support our Communications Director with Pride and early campaign-season digital work during a pivotal moment in Virginia.
Equality Virginia is offering an 8-week Summer internship to provide meaningful learning opportunities to those interested in further developing their social media management and digital engagement skills. This is a hands-on role where interns will actively contribute to content and storytelling, not just observe.
This role is ideal for someone who is creative, culturally aware, and interested in how digital storytelling shapes public understanding of LGBTQ+ issues. The intern will work closely with our Communications Director to help bring Pride campaigns, community stories, and advocacy priorities to life across the organization’s digital platforms.
There is potential for this role to extend into the fall, supporting public education communications around a ballot measure campaign.
